Alliance for Response, NYC has been guided by a volunteer committee chair and volunteer steering committee since its inception in 2004. This team of individuals from both public and private institutions has partnered together to provide programming, professional development, networking opportunities focused on disaster preparedness and response, and administered critical information to the membership at large in event of a local disaster.
Since 2013, generous funding from the New York Community Trust has allowed the present leadership to focus on building AFR’s first website with social media integration. The committee is also currently working on creating the training modules for New York City’s first Heritage Response Team. The Heritage Response Team will assist our membership and cultural community at large when disaster strikes.
